Zinfra Shares Gas Expertise: The Changing Face of Gas Supply and Associated Infrastructure on the Eastern Seaboard

Iain Murray, National Business Development Manager, Gas for Zinfra, will be a key note speaker at the Institute of Gas Engineers AGM being held on 16 May.

Topics for discussion will include current domestic gas supply, the market importance of liquefied natural gas (LNG), the impact of coals seam gas (CSG) and LNG on the eastern seaboard as well as future prospects in the gas sector.

Iain is one of three speakers who will be covering these topics from the perspectives of politics, policy, delivery and logistics.

Iain's talk will delve into:

  • Supply and demand for gas in NSW and Queensland
  • why gas so important with the loss of indigenous capabilities in gasoline production as refineries close
  • A discussion on CSG in NSW, Queensland including volumes, current production, domestic gas and export
  • A discussion on LNG facilities in Gladstone, Dandenong, Tomago, Tasmania and potentially Chinchilla
  • Why LNG? The pros and cons
  • Future prospects including
    - CSG supply making NSW self sufficient
    - Queensland revenue for export LNG
    - Replacement of diesel by LNG
    - Conversion of power generation from coal to gas, the benefits of gas over coal
