Over the last few months, a mobility solution has been rolled out to two of Zinfra Group’s Gas Mains and Services divisions, one in NSW and the other in South Australia.
Not only are thousands of pages being saved from the printer, efficiencies are soaring with crew productivity increasing by approximately 25% against industry benchmarks. Crews have access to automated, client-specific reports improving compliance and decreasing time frames required to deliver the job. A true paperless environment is being achieved out in the field, with the elimination of paper based documentation, including: work packs, Dial Before You Dig documentation (soon for SA), manuals, spreadsheets, safety pre-starts, inspection, testing and scoping forms, SWMS, MSDSs, training records, operations manuals and more! Field crews now use their mobile tablets to complete all electronic documentation live and on site, with data feeding directly back into the operations team. An actual screen shot is pictured. Back-office efficiency is also on the rise with the automation of the works management system process. Jobs automatically advance through planning queues based on what risks and requirements are identified during scoping. Job packs are automatically collated and submitted on job completion in accordance with contract and PDS requirements. In South Australia alone, statistics paint a vivid picture of what the mobility solution delivers in terms of saved resources and time. Since adoption of the mobility tablets just four months ago:
